As is Irrational Passions tradition, we like to check in with The People around mid-year to get our fingers on the pulses of what games are looking like the front runners for Game of the Year come December. As is new tradition, Jarrett stole this idea and made it the subject of an episode of MPP for the second year in a row!

Joining him is IP writer and Input co-host Jurge Cruz (@jcruzalvarez26), writer Will Harrison (@DoubleUHarrison), and OK Beast's Ian Preschel (@IanWhyNot), and none of there selections are what you think they are. That's not a true statement. OR IS ITTTTT?

On a macro-scale, cosplay is a growing hobby-cum-industry. Pictures of beautiful models decked out as popular characters from tv, movies, video games, and comic books get re-tweeted and shared and whatever you do on Instagram ad nausem. It's colorful, fun, and fantastic. At the micro-level, the personal level, the story gets a bit deeper. The personal struggles, successes, failures, and everything in between is just under the surface of every cosplayer. That's the story Jarrett (@Jarrettjawn) wants to help them tell along side the pageantry of their personas.

In this episode, he starts with Roxy Fae, singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, and cosplayer. Cosplay is a hobby she enjoys, but it wasn't always the case. After bouts with depression and ridicule in her youth, she almost gave up the ghost. In due time, she grew back into her love, and as she became a better cosplayer, she found other aspects of her life grow with it.

Thank you to Brian Altano for the clip of "10 am" from his album Misanthrope.

There's no single reason why Mass Effect: Andromeda doesn't hold a candle to the original trilogy, but the greater consensus is that it doesn't. It's wholly enjoyable, and even innovative in a few key ways, but it misses the mark and conjures up whispers of that nefarious D word - disappointment.

Join Jarrett (@Jarrettjawn) and his guest, writer Ashley Parrish (@tokenblackchick), as they try to put their finger on what chords this spin-off failed to strike with them.

Street Fighter V is more than a sequel, it's a reboot of the expectations of the Fighting Game Community when it comes to Planet Earth's biggest fighting game. Street Fighter V was meant to revive the scene for old-timer, and be approachable enough for newcomers to throw their hat into the fray competently. Its had mixed results.

Why? Well, a lot of reasons. Reasons that require an expert to help sus out. So Jarrett (@Jarrettjawn) found one in Yahoo! eSports personality Michael Martin (@Bizarro_Mike).

Jarrett and Tommy Miller (@itsctrl) have an intimate chat about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and whether the bubble has burst on the franchise. Tommy was a streamer for COD4: Modern Warfare back before that shit was cool, so he might be an authority on the subject.
